She has 20+ years of experience in cybersecurity including secure software development, zero trust architecture, identity and access management, blockchain, and cloud security. Her experience includes technical leadership at AWS, Natera Biotechnology, PWC, and HP where she guided and implemented security practices for software product engineering. She’s certified as an AWS Architect and Security Specialist, CISSP, CSSLP, CCSP, and CEH.
She has 8 years of experience in the security and privacy fields. She became interested in security and privacy on the job at two different startups, Sift and Nova Credit. Her experience includes implementing security controls (ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II) across the businesses, project managing internal audits and external security audits, and building privacy programs across organizations. At Coinbase, her focus is on maintaining and designing the technical solutions Coinbase uses to mitigate privacy risks. She’s a member of the IAPP and has her CIPP-US and CIPT.
Marie's practice focuses on a number of subject areas including privacy matters, virtual currency, custody, contracts and compliance. Her privacy experience at Bitgo includes drafting and reviewing Data Processing
Agreements and Standard Contractual Clauses; enhancing and updating privacy programs and policies; and advising her clients as they build products that are compliant with privacy regulations. Prior to joining Bitgo in 2021, Marie worked at the New York State
Department of Financial Services for four years, where she played a leading role in the licensing of virtual currency businesses. Marie is a New York licensed attorney and holds an LLM from Brooklyn Law
School.
